Hi, I'm Lisa! I'm a senior design manager at IBM who has worked across the

and incorporating storytelling into everything I do.

MY WORK

The IBM Cloud UI Library

Crafting a solution on Cloud that meets security, compliance, and configuration standards can take days or weeks and involve highly complicated processes. What if the process was simplified and shortened? What does the next generation of Cloud look like?

Tasked with simplifying our Cloud UI, I led my team to create a new component library that not only guides users through the complex process, but it also challenges the industry standard of productive interfaces by enhancing the Cloud experience with moments of delight through expressive and productive features.

The Carbon Calculator

Cloud usage has an impactful footprint, contrary to common belief –

Carbon Calculator is bringing that footprint to light so users can monitor, understand, and reduce their usage. I lead my team to build this new feature on IBM Cloud in order to help businesses understand their true impact on the environment in their data and cloud usage with emission tracking built into every account.

What if...?

Typical design work is prioritized based on user feedback, where designers identify key issues brought up by users, offer a solution, and build it within 6 months. This brings up an important question – if we are only designing for what our product will look like 6 months from now, how will we ever design for the future? What if instead of focusing on the pain points of yesterday, we designed for what our users will need 3 years from now?  My team and I asked our employees this simple question and to envision where it might take IBM in 3 years time. With 250 employees participating and over 100 ideas sourced, we had the fuel we needed to drive innovation to pull together 120 product designers for a one day design jam to form 21 teams and conceptualize over 60 innovative ideas.

Reimagining the future
of IBM Cloud

In an effort to modernize our Cloud platform by re-designing our user’s experience starting from a blank slate,  I lead 26 designers in a 5 week workshop exploring how we can establish a new visual journey without being limited by today’s technical and stylistic limitations to make a more modern and successful user experience.
